

Elado (Lod/Uncle Lod/Papa) Burila, 77, of Stockton passed away October 10, 2014. He passed peacefully in the arms of of his loving wife Cheri. He was born in Sacramento, California to Teburcio and Eugenia Burila. Because he was unable to finish High School, he very proudly earned his GED at age 54. He worked from age 17, first retiring from the Federal government then working for Tudor Construction and Restoration for the last 22 years. He loved bowling, watching tv (especially the Giants and 49ers), and playing cards. But what brought him the most joy was cooking for his family and being surrounded by children. Lod is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cheri, 4 children, Richard (Amor) Burila, Elaine (Barry) Cook, Caron (Andrew) Hernandez,and Lolly Rose. He is also survived by 4 children that he took into his home and raised, Darrell and Jordan Pierce and Cherona and Christiana Patterson. He will also be terribly missed by his favorite sister-in-law Tori (Margo) Davis. He had 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a very special girlfriend. He was preceeded in death by his parents Teburcio and Eugenia, Brother Hamilton, and grandson Jason. There will be visitation on Friday, Oct. 17 from 5-7 pm at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 pm at DeYoung Shorline. Committal will be private.
