Gail Rummel passed away on Nov. 26, 2017 at home of heart disease complications. Gail was born & raised in Stockton, CA where she attended Monroe Elementary, Hamilton Middle School, Edison High, & San Joaquin Delta College where she earned her AA in Early childhood Education. Gail began her career as a preschool educator & taught at various schools throughout Stockton & Lodi during her career for over 30 years & has impacted the lives of countless students & families with her passion for preparing students for school & life. She went on to become the preschool director for St. Peter Lutheran School where she built & ran the program for 14 years. She was an active member of the HMS & Cesar Chavez Band Boosters where she volunteered for the music programs that her daughters were a part of to not only support her girls, but to support their friends & all of the students. Gail was a long-time bowler at West Lane Bowl with her family. She loved to spend time with family, take day trips, and loved all things Disney & Mickey Mouse. Preceded by father John J. Montalvo. Survived by husband John Rummel, daughters Jessica & Lea Rummel, mother Mary Montalvo, brother John V. Montalvo, sisters Rosemarie Hamilton & Diana Gonzalez, many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, great nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless students. Viewing will be held on Wed. Dec. 6th from 4-6PM and Vigil/Rosary at 6PM at DeYoung Memorial Chapel at 601 N. California St. in Stockton. Mass will be Thurs. Dec. 7th at 11AM at Church of the Presentation. Committal will follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. There will be a reception from 2-5PM at Univ. of the Pacific Vereschagin Alumni House. Published in The Record on Dec. 3, 2017
