

She was born in 1938 in Njah-Etu, Mbengwi Momo-Division NW – Cameroon to John and Martha Munya. Mom was schooled at Basel Mission School Fiango – Kumba and Bafut Girls School in the 1950s. She met her husband Mr Christopher Ajaga Tamon (of blessed memory) in Kumba while he studied at PTTC Kumba in the late 50s and got wedded in 1960. She was a believer and a woman of strong faith and worked hard as a homemaker, seamstress and hospital nursing assistant. Mom was strong and steadfast in all she did with humility and dedication. She and others founded the Presbyterian Church at Government High School Mbengwi Congregation and served as Church elder. She also founded the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF) and became its pioneer president. She was one of those who birth the idea of white beats and white sandals for CWF rallies.
Mama Emilia raised many children and is survived by her children and senior brother. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends each of whom cherish her wisdom, warmth and unwavering love.
A humble mother of strong faith will be greatly missed. May her memory be forever blessed.
