My beautiful connection to Emily was my mother Margaret. My mother and Emily were best friends growing up in a little town called Knightsen. Our mutual love for my mom and for Knightsen, created so many happy conversations, filled with Emily's beautiful memories. Everything she shared was a treasure to me. The joy in the simple things they did together.  Having fun finding shapes in the clouds, my mom trying to teach her how  to swing dance and their long walks in town while Emily took pictures with her camera, are just a few. When I showed Emily my favorite old photo of my mom, she said "I took that picture!" I was so happy!  She told me exactly where it was taken and a cute comment she had  said to my mom, just before she snapped it. How beautiful was that. When my mother and Emily needed to choose a Saint's name for Confirmation,  they chose each other's names. My mother became Margaret Emily and Emily became Emily Margaret. I'm so grateful to Kris, for bringing Emily to spend time with me. The delight she had, when given a leash connected to a little goat at the farm, was priceless! She loved it! There are no words, to describe, what knowing Emily meant to me. Thank you Emily, you were a treasure to both me and my mother.

I met Emily and Arturo as  they lost Ronald. We started a friendship then.. Then after Arturo died, Emily and I started our adventures. Even though she was losing her eyesight, she had the best sense of humor in the world!! She was such a role model for me. We would jump in my car and take off on our adventures.  She loved IN & OUT and we went there often. We also hit Pietro's in Lodi. And we also went shopping and wandering around the big box stores like Lowe's and Costco plus others. Plus we even had fun at doctors' appointments & procedures! She loved her son, Kris, so much & appreciated everything he did for her ! He was the Best son ever! I will miss her so much. Thank you for being in my life ,Emily ,you made it so much better for me!

Emily had been a dear friend for 50 yeas. We first met bowling.
After bowling we would go out to lunch and then shopping (mostly at Macy’s). We enjoyed sewing and shopping at fabric stores.
Rest in peace my dear friend you will be missed

Emily was a long time neighbor of my Mom’s on Adams Street and friend to my older siblings. 

I didn’t know her very well but she was always friendly and kind to me. I will miss seeing her occasionally as I walk my dog.

My condolences to the family.

I have very fond memories of Emily and our "girl" time together.  She always welcomed me with open arms and a smile on her face.  A few nites ago, after I learned she had passed, I was in bed and said a special prayer for her.  I then turned on my side to go to sleep and my ceiling light came on;  there's no logical reason for that to have happened!  I believe Emily came to me to let me know she was ok and is in a good place!  Love you and bless you.  Cissy

De San Martino family, so very sorry to hear of your loss. I can’t believe that mom and Emily are at DeYoung together (we lost mom July 18th).  Halloween is my favorite holiday and I have continued buying special treats for neighbor children and my grandchildren like your mom did for us….usually it’s from See’s. I loved her teaching me to crochet//knit, although getting to the house by that crotchety  Pekingese dog was trying. About 8 months ago Mom and I walked down to visit. Emily seemed to  remember certain things like hanging out in the yard with Daddy O,, it was good to see her.
