Estrella L. Jose

Estrella, age 77, of Stockton, CA passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. She was born in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines on September 23, 1944 to Maximo and Gertrudes Arceo Lagman. Estrella is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hermiginio "Boy" Jose and her parents. Estrella is survived by her sons, Allan F. Jose, JJ Jose, and Justin Jose.

She graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila, Philippines with a degree in Nutrition. Upon graduating from the University of Sto. Tomas, Estrella worked at a hospital in Manila where she met her husband. Prior to marrying, she moved to the United States and worked as a dietitian at Cedar Sinai Hospital. Later in life, she opened care facilities for adults and elderly persons with disabilities and provided them with care and comfort.

Estrella’s was a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner of Church of the Presentation and St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Stockton. Estrella was devoted to her children and family, but was especially proud of the work she did with persons with disabilities. For over 30 years, she owned and operated residential care facilities that provided for the health and well-being of persons who needed special care and attention. She worked tirelessly to care for them and advocate on their behalf, and earned the respect of her residents, friends, and colleagues. Estrella will be laid to rest with her husband and family members in their family mausoleum in Manila, Philippines.
