Fern Fillpot passed away peacefully in Stockton, CA November 30, 2013, at age 84. Fern was born in Fontaine, Arkansas on November 5, 1929, to Blanche and Homer Songer, graduated from Light High School, and came to California in 1947 to marry Milton Gill and enjoy the life of a farmer's wife. She and her family attended Linden United Methodist Church and Stone Corral Community Church in Jenny Lind for many years where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. It was important to her that her children know and love the Lord. Fern moved to Stockton in 1970 and worked as a floral designer. Arrangement of wreaths for all occasions was her specialty. Few front doors of any house in her family didn't have one every year for Christmas. In 1983 she married Wayne Fillpot and they enjoyed traveling together.
Fern was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Phillip Gill and granddaughter, Angele Rogers. She is survived by her husband Wayne, daughter Deanna Rogers and granddaughters Elise, Leigh Ann, and Elizabeth Rogers, son Tom and wife Cathy and their children Phillip (Ilze), Douglas, Thomas Jr., and Victoria. Fern has four great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10AM, Saturday, December 7th at the Linden Cemetery.
