Born on March 9, 1954, in Bimmanias, Pilar, Abra, Philippines, Francisco was the ninth of ten children born to Romualdo and Saturnina Alvarado. In 1970, seeking new horizons, he immigrated to the Big Island of Hawaii. A man of tireless work ethic, he spent his years there under the sun, working the sugar cane and anthurium plantations and harvesting papaya and guava.
In 1976, Francisco returned to the Philippines to wed his wife, Virginia. They began their journey together back in Hawaii in 1980, eventually relocating their growing family to Stockton, California, in 1985. Though his formal education ended in the third grade, Francisco possessed a wisdom and strength that allowed him to be a steadfast provider for his family.
Francisco was a simple man who found his greatest joy in nature and the company of those he loved. Whether he was fishing with his sons, riding ATVs with his grandsons, or taking his beloved dog, Aria, for a ride in the rear basket of his tricycle, he lived for the quiet, meaningful moments of life.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Virginia, on January 9, 2026. He is survived by his five children: Ted, Mark, Christy, Maile, and Paul; his daughters-in-law Jennifer, Julie, and Qewani; and his sons-in-law Sophany and Andey. His legacy of love continues through his twelve grandchildren: Mae, MJ, Jayden, Jeremy, Nicholas, Adonis, Mikayla, Noel, Evan, Alana, Julien, and Leland. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lucring and Tiopila; brothers, Ben, Pinyong, and Melecio; and many nieces and nephews.
