Lillian "Irene" Cromer of Stockton, California, beloved wife of the late Norval "Bill' Cromer for 68 years, passed away on July 26, 2018, in her home surrounded by her daughter, her granddaughters, and her great grandchildren.
Irene was born in Goodnight, Texas to J.L. and Myrtle Padgett on August 6, 1922. She married Norval "Bill" Cromer on August 2, 1941, and lived in Stockton for 70 years.
Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Norval "Bill" Cromer who passed away in 2010;, her daughter, Cathy Ludwig, who passed away in 2011; her brothers Jay and his wife Betty, Vernon and his wife Doris and Raymond and his wife Peggy Padgett, and brother in law Wallace B. Johnson.
She is survived by her sister Evelyn Johnson of Los Osos, CA, her daughter Norene Polack; two granddaughters, Michele Simi and Kelley Elvis-Flores, great grandchildren Anthony and Maigan Simi, Benjamin Simi, Breanna Simi, Carson Simi, Donald Bruce and Kelsey Ostrander of Fresno, great-great grandchildren Tanner and Brooklyn Ostrander and many neices and nephews.
Irene and her husband Bill had a very active, healthy and loving life with their family and friends. Her family was all important to her and she attended every event that she could. Irene worked at JcPennys for nearly 30 years where she developed lasting friendships. She enjoyed golfing and playing bridge, and in earlier years she played tennis, softball, as well as bowling.

St., Stockton, CA, on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 2-6 p.m. A
viewing will be held before the funeral service at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, Following the funeral, we will have a reception at the Italian Athletic Club, at 3541 Cherryland Ave, Stockton. Graveside will be at 3:00 p.m. held at Farmington Memorial Park, at 5255 Escalon-Bellota Rd., Farmington, CA.
