Jean Louise Sanders-Starr

Jean Louise Sanders-Starr is survived by her husband, Leroy Calvin Starr, of Fresno; children Norris Dale Sanders, Chris Lee Sanders of Stockton, Ca Tammy Louise Sanders of Oakdale, Ca; Stepdaughters Debie Runyan of Valley Springs, Ca; Janet Zensen of Modesto, Ca; Diana Ellis of Stockton, Ca; Sibling Mary Ellen Barkley of Modesto, Ca; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lillie Mitchell; Husband A. L. Sanders and daughter Deborah Overmyer all of Stockton, Ca.

Jean Louise Sanders-Starr was born on July 23,1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Arthur and Lillie Mitchell. She attended Victory High School in Stockton CA, in which time she Married A. L. Sanders in 1947. The couple welcomed four children into their home and Jean encouraged them to pursue their goals.

In 1997, Jean married Leroy Calvin Starr in Lake Tahoe, California. They made their home in Stockton, Ca. In 2021 Jean and Roy Starr moved to California Veteran’s home of Fresno.

Jean was a talented homemaker and accomplished cook. Jean was primarily a homemaker who at various times worked in several restaurants. Jean’s last employment, outside of her home, was at the university of Pacific cafeteria.

She loved her country and was passionate in her faith and belief in our Lord.

A visitation for Jean will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 North California, Stockton, CA 95202. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:30 AM, 809 North California, Stockton, CA 95202. A private committal will held for the immediate family.
