Jesse F. Davis

Jesse F. Davis March 5, 1925 - January 25, 2017 Jesse (Jess) passed away peacefully on January 25, 2017, after a brief illness. Jess was born on March 5, 1925 in Daisy, AK to Marion Davis and Carrie Whisehunt. Jess was married to Thelma Davis who passed away in 2008. Jess was preceded in death by his father, mother, and wife, Thelma of 50 years. Jess is survived by his sister Jonelle Gibson of Bossier City, LA; step-son Jack (Connie) Kilgore of Stockton, CA; step-son David (Erin) Kilgore of Post Falls, ID; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and cousins. Jess enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Little Rock, AK in 1943 as an Apprentice Seaman. Jess received an honorable discharge in 1945. Jess relocated to Stockton, CA. and was employed as a Sanitation Engineer at the University of Pacific for 30 years. Jess and his wife, Thelma were also business owners. They purchased the One-Eleven Club in the 1960's; and later purchased West Lane Bingo Hall. Jess will be fondly remembered as the "unofficial" family photographer; and the family will always be grateful for all of the wonderful photos and memories that Jess provided. Visitation for Jess will be on Monday, February 6, 2017, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 11:00 am at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel located at 7676 Shoreline Dr. Stockton, CA.
