This is a glimpse into the life of a son, brother, father, husband, uncle, grandfather, friend and most importantly a child of God. We shall not mourn his passing but rejoice for a life well lived. A life filled with love, joy & happiness.
Jimmy Dean Parker, Sr. was born on February 11, 1955 in French Camp, Ca. He was the 6th child born to Ocie Washington Parker and Lula Mae Parker. While growing up Jim was later raised by his mother and stepfather Elder Eddie Goodwin.
Jim grew into a spunky little boy he believed that he and his older brothers “The Parker Boys” were unstoppable. He attended Taft Elementary School, John Marshall Jr High, and Edison Senior High.
His parents taught him early on the importance of having a relationship with the Lord. As a young boy he attended St. Paul M.B.C. under the leadership of his uncle the late Rev. Mack Mitchell. Later in life he joined the Wells of Living Waters Ministries under the direction of his brother the late Bishop Lee Von Parker. While serving at Wells of Living Waters Ministries he was ordained as a Deacon and was active in the Sons of Jacob Men’s Ministry.
Jim was employed by Generations Health Care for the last 15 years and also worked for RJS Janitorial Service. He was previously employed by the State of California, St. Joseph’s Hospital and San Joaquin General Hospital.
Jim was a lover of all music Gospel and Jazz were his favorites. In his pastime he would watch Old Western TV shows. He loved to fish and barbeque and always bragged about his secret sauce a recipe he inherited from his mother. Jim was “Cool as a fan and always sharp as a tack”. Jim always made sure he looked amazing he had a suit for every occasion. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh. Jim was loved by all who knew him.
On October 25, 2020 the final page of this life was written. Jim in his 65th season slipped the bonds of this life for a life in eternity. His independent spirit, iron will, and strong character will never be duplicated, waiting on the other side is his parents: Ocie Washington Parker and Lula Mae Parker-Goodwin; step-father: Elder Eddie Goodwin; brothers: Earl, Odis, Timothy, Bishop Lee Von and Robert Parker; sister: Charlene Parker.
Because love is greater than death Jim will live forever in the hearts of his sons: Jimmy D. Parker, Jr. and Darcus Parker of Stockton, Ca; daughters: Lashanya Breazell of Sacramento, Ca, and Jada (Kermit) Parker of Modesto, Ca; Twelve grandsons, four granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Christine Warren and Clarissa Goodwin; brother: Eddie (Libby) Goodwin Jr.; all of Stockton, CA. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
