Joan met her husband Robert as a teenager in England where he was serving in the United States Army. They fell in love, were married and their first two children were born there. It was a life- time commitment, lasting 68 years. The couple returned to the United States, living in Utah, Colorado and eventually the San Francisco Bay Area which would become their home base to work, live and raise their expanding family of 8 children. Joan worked as a full-time homemaker during this time while Robert worked to make a living. It was quite a challenge, but Joan was able to meet it. After retirement, Joan moved with Robert to the Central Valley settling in Manteca for several years and later Stockton.
Joan loved everything Elvis, classic movies, casino trips with her husband, and entering sweepstakes. She loved to read movie magazines about the lives of the stars. Her husband Robert was her guardian angel on earth and the family feels comfort in knowing they are once again together.
A virtual celebration of Joan’s life will be held on September 25, 2020 at 11 AM through De Young Shoreline Chapel. Please call the office to receive the link. All who knew Joan and want to honor her memory are welcome to attend.
