It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan Theadora Hinds, who left us on November 4, 2023 at the age of 81after a long painful struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a dignified, private soul who loved her family and friends deeply. She was a tireless wife, mother and grandmother who supported her family in every way. She was an honest woman of quiet strength that was there for anyone who came to her for advice, help, or a shoulder to cry on. Joan was a professional woman that took pride in her position as an EMT in the Health Unit, then as a Career Technician at San Joaquin Delta College. Joan enjoyed playing tennis for years, then enjoyed being a part of the Orchid Society where she had a gift for growing exquisite, prize winning plants. She loved to travel, having many adventures filled with laughter and memories often commemorated by a unique rock, seashell or antique. Often described as feisty, vibrant and full-of-life, Joan will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
