On Friday, November 15, 2019, John Albert Stobb, Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away, after a short illness, in Sacramento, CA. John was born on July 24, 1937 in Marrieta, Love County, Oklahoma to John A. Stobb, Sr. and Jewel Sewell. When he was 17 years old he headed out to see some of the world and joined the US Navy where he became an integral part of the Flight Deck Crew on the USS Yorktown.
John met and married Margaret W. Schneider, the love of his life, on January 30, 1960. Shortly after in November of 1960 Margaret and John had their oldest daughter, Gina, while living in Fullerton. In July of 1962 a second daughter, Lisa, was born. After leaving the Navy, John worked for Kraft Foods for 9 years before relocating his family to Prunedale, CA where he became employed by Nestle Company in the cocoa bean processing area for 9 years. From there John moved his family to Mariposa, CA where he worked for the school district as part of the custodial crew of Mariposa High School. John and Margaret also owned and operated their own business in Oregon and then relocated to California where they retired from working together as managers of mobile home parks in 1998, moving to Magalia, CA and later Valley Springs, CA.
John’s passion was buying and fixing up homes. Him and Margaret spent many of their married years buying homes and improving their value while living in them. They enjoyed working together daily to build a loving home that another family would be able to live in. John was an avid believer in his savior, Jesus Christ and always tried to spread his love by example. John was a kind and generous man. He was a happy man and always had a ready smile on his face. He thoroughly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He worked hard for his family. John also helped to love and raise three foster children during his time here and still had a loving relationship with two of them. His family has many memories to make them not only miss him, but to remember him with love and laughter. He was known for giving his children and grandchildren nicknames that stuck with them throughout life. He was known for his quick sense of humor and his kind and compassionate spirit. He is a man who is much loved by family and friends alike. No better husband, father or grandfather has walked this earth as John did.
