Josh Brown, age 43, passed away February 8, 2015 from complications
of pneumonia and heart disease. Josh was born in San Francisco and
spent his early years in Yuba City before moving to Stockton. After
graduating from St. Mary’s High School, Josh served in the United States
Navy on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, where he was deployed in the Gulf
War. After leaving the Navy, Josh settled in the Stockton area where he
lived and worked over the last twenty years. He spent the majority of his
career as a service writer in the auto body repair industry. Josh had an
enduring love of music which was passed down from his mother, and he
often shared his amazing music knowledge with his family and friends.
He performed locally in the rock band Strutter. He was also a huge fan
of the band KISS, and frequently won local Halloween costume competitions
with his Paul Stanley impersonation. Josh became a Dallas Cowboys fan
early in his life and faithfully maintained his loyalty throughout the years.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, friends, and dogs, and
he carried his zest for life up until the very end. Josh was preceded in death
by his father, David Brown of Yuba City and Stockton. He is survived by his
mother, Elizabeth Hall and stepfather John Hall of Scotts Valley; son Corey
Brown of Stockton; sisters Lisa Brown and Annie Oakden (Jonah) of Dublin;
nephew Seamus Oakden and niece Sophia Oakden of Dublin; and many
loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am
on Saturday, February 21st at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton,
followed immediately by a reception at the Stockton Golf & Country Club, 3800 W. Country Club Blvd.,
Stockton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
Arrangements under the direction of Deyoung Memorial Chapel, STOCKTON, CA.
