

Lance Elliott Turner, DDS, 61, a lifetime resident of Stockton, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, of gastric cancer. He was born on Halloween 1953, son of George Rodgers Turner and Louise Betty (Baumgart) Turner. An Eagle Scout and Stagg High graduate, he attended Delta College and UOP, where he then earned his doctoral degree at the UOP Dental School in San Francisco. He practiced general dentistry since the mid-1970s in Stockton and Lodi. Dr. Turner was founder and Executive Director of Future Stars 2000s, promoting tennis education for youth in many Central Valley cities. The organization was named the US Tennis Association's Northern California Member Organization of the Year in 2014.
He lost his wife Anita (Walsh) to cancer in 1998 along with stillborn twins. Survivors are daughter Leia of Concord; brothers Noel L. of Stockton and Stephen W. of Woodburn, OR, and their families.
Funeral services at 11 AM Friday, Oct. 23 at Lakeview Assembly Church, 2111 Quail Lakes Drive, with visitation Thursday, Oct. 22, 3-7 PM at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California.
