Lawrence Delgado, 86, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2026, in Stockton, California, surrounded by the love of his family.

Some people are remembered for what they accomplished and others are remembered for how they made people feel. Lawrence Delgado will forever be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the kindness he showed so naturally, and the quiet strength that touched everyone blessed enough to know him. He was the kind of man who made every person feel like family, never hesitated to lend a helping hand, and never expected anything in return. His greatest wealth was not measured in possessions, but in the countless lives he enriched through his generosity, humility, and unconditional love.

He was born on November 9, 1939, to Samuel and Margarita Delgado. Lawrence grew up surrounded by family, faith, music, and the values that would guide him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and all of his siblings-Teresa Williams (Ramon), Jessie Fine (Bob), Samuel Delgado (Wanda), Margaret Lewis, Joe Delgado, Eliseo “Ricky” Delgado (Sharon), Abigail Duran, and Richard Delgado. As the last surviving sibling, he carried with him a lifetime of treasured memories, family traditions, and stories that he loved to share with those around him.

On January 7, 1961, Lawrence married the love of his life, Mary Elena (Olivas) Delgado at St. Mary’s Church in Stockton, California. Together they shared more than 65 years of marriage creating a home filled with faith, laughter, unwavering devotion, and unconditional love. Anyone who spent time with them witnessed a partnership built on friendship, playful banter, mutual respect, and a love that only grew stronger with time. Together they raised 4 children: Lawrence Anthony Delgado (Deceased), Carlos Richard Delgado, Derek Marcus Delgado, Dyan Elena Delgado-Garcia (Mike Garcia), leaving a legacy of love that will continue through generations.

Lawrence dedicated 31 years of service as an Industrial Mechanic for Libby Owens Ford in Lathrop, California. Gifted with remarkable hands and an even bigger heart, there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t build, repair, or restore. He was skilled in welding and fabricated beautiful wrought-iron gates and security doors for family and friends. His door was always open to help all the neighborhood kids with fixing their bicycles. He found joy in helping others. If someone had a problem, Lawrence was already looking for a way to solve it.

He shared a lot of memories from years gone by telling stories that brought laughter to the room or reminiscing about his life. His stories became family treasures told with warmth, humor, and a smile that made every moment memorable.

He was humble without seeking recognition and generous without expecting praise. He welcomed everyone with warmth, treated every person with dignity and respect. His gentle spirit left an imprint that will remain in the lives of his family, friends, neighbors, and all who had a privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, Lawrence loved his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with those he loved. He leaves behind 3 loving children: Carlos Delgado, Derek Delgado, Dyan Delgado-Garcia. He was a proud grandfather to Lawrence A. Delgado Jr. (deceased), Katrina Delgado, Carlos Delgado Jr. (Lequisia), Marissa Jenkins (Jean-Pearce), Leana Caballero (Steve), Audrey Delgado, Briana Delgado (Kim), Derek Delgado Jr., Aliyah Delgado (Victor), Sergio Gomez (Gabriela), Michael Gomez, Jenna Gomez, Frank Garcia, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Our hearts are broken, and we are profoundly grateful for the years we were blessed to share with him. His laughter, stories, wisdom, gentle smile, unwavering faith, and endless love will continue to guide and inspire us. While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing he is at peace. He is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him, and forever resting in the loving presence of our Lord.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lawrence’s life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, with visitation from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and a Rosary beginning at 5:00 pm., at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California Street, Stockton, and Ca., 95202.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Saint Luke Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter Street, Stockton, Ca., 95204. Interment will immediately follow at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton, Ca., 95204. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
