For five years, Lilybeth Tamargo Rosales battled cancer but on April 27, God called her home. In those five years, our relationship grew even stronger and our family bond was even tighter. As her husband, I learned so many lessons – one being compassionate towards others. She and I come from big families so it’s no surprise that family is important to us. Over the years, I’ve seen my wife’s compassion extend beyond family and spill over to friends, coworkers, neighbors, and our kids’ friends. It didn’t surprise me that when she was in the hospital in her final days, many family and friends came to visit –even the doctors and nurses commented how many folks came to visit. Cancer did not define Beth “Betchang.” Even in her darkest moments, she still had the strength to care for us and not burden us with what she was going through. I was honored to be her husband and to be her caretaker. Let’s face it, Betchang made it easy for me to love her and care for her through her many chemotherapy treatments and doctor visits. I’m not going to lie, it was hard sometimes for me to see my wife suffer but I didn’t want to show it. I’m sure that she felt the same way and didn’t really let us know how much she was hurting. She really showed us the true meaning of courage by appreciating every day of her 53 years of life(June 12, 1961-April 27, 2015) and smiling through it all. I thank God for His grace over us. Betchang’s last wish was for us to live life fully and to remind us that everything will be ok. I’m comforted in knowing that she is now at peace and that she finally has her healing. I, along with her children Bianca and Bee J and to her extended children Yvette, Patrick, Jeremy and Andrew, her parents, Lope and Teresita, her siblings Carrie, Edgar, Zenaida, Richard, and Clarence and the rest of her family, will miss her dearly. I thank God for blessing me with a beautiful, compassionate, selfless woman who was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend to so many. Farewell my love, my true AMAZON WARRIOR … you have fought the good fight. I am honored to be your husband. Until we meet again. Noel Rosales
