She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Terry Welch of Lodi CA, Mark Hernandez of San Jose CA, and Dustin Brothers (May) of Galt CA. Linda leaves behind three granddaughters, Danielle Welch, Ashley Welch, and Brandie Brothers. She was preceded in death by her father, Art Borbon and mother Annie Borbon (Leos).
Linda was born on March 10, 1948. She was raised in Stockton, CA where she graduated from Franklin High School in 1966. Soon after, she began her career in nursing as an LVN at St, Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton. She later graduated from Modesto Junior College and earned her license as a Registered Nurse. She continued work at St. Josephs and later St. Dominic’s Hospital in Manteca until her retirement in 2010.
Memories shared by her children and grandchildren include that she was devoted to their well-being and caring. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. Linda loved the holidays and her children and grandchildren. She did her best to make the holidays magical with bunny footprints, holiday villages and outdoor decor.
Linda did her best to support her kids and grandchildren. She spent many an evening and weekend at baseball practice, swim lessons and recitals. She paid for tutoring, horseback lessons and little league. The little things that she did out of habit to show her love are what will be missed the most.
Linda was a dedicated nurse whose compassionate care and unwavering commitment touched the lives of countless patients and families. She exemplified the spirit of nursing, always putting others before self. She brought not only expertise but also warmth and kindness to every interaction. She will be remembered for her spirit, tireless work ethic, and the countless lives she enriched.
Linda most enjoyed time with her family, whether gathering for a pleasant meal or traveling with them. She was an avid collector of antiques, collectables, and knick-knacks. Weekends would often find her visiting antique and collectable shops throughout the Mother Lode. Linda also enjoyed to travel. Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida, and northwestern United States were among those places she visited. Her favorite destination was Monterey, CA (She always insisted on being there on Tuesday so she could enjoy the Downtown Farmers Market).
At Linda’s request, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Our family would like to thank the caring staff of Vienna Nursing and Rehab Center, Dr. Kasmi, and Sasha, Josh, and Zack of Hospice of San Joaquin for their devotion to Linda as well as her family.
Linda will be missed by all, forgotten by none.
