Martha resided in Stockton her entire life. She graduated with a cosmetology license from Schneider Vocational High School in 1972. She was employed with Stockton Unified School District from 1973 to 1989 where she worked as a receptionist and Personnel Technician in the Personnel Department, a Payroll Technician in the Payroll Department, and a Dispatcher in the District Police Department. After leaving the District, she went on to work with the San Joaquin County Public Works Solid Waste Division. There she worked as a Recovery Worker, traffic control, recycling, supervisor of AWP workers, trained in CPR and First Aid. She was also trained as a heavy equipment operator, fork lift driver, and CAT heavy loader. She was promoted to Senior Recovery Worker three years prior to retiring in 2016.
Martha marched to the beat of her own drum and lived her life to the fullest. She was a most loving person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She will be remembered as the life of the party. There is not a “toast” or karaoke night where she will not be missed. Her son Richard and grandchildren, Vanessa and JP, were her pride and joy. She lived for her family and there is no doubt that she will be watching over us all forever. May she Rest In Peace.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Martha on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church located at 3847 N. Sutter Street in Stockton.
