

Max was born on April 14, 1931, in Cebu, Philippines, son of the late Sancho and Perfecta Enad.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Conchita Garciano of Stockton, CA, whom he married in 1960.
His family also includes children MG and Lulu Enad of Dublin, CA, the late Milko Enad, Faith Enad of Huntington Beach, CA, Donna and Michael Napper of Richmond, CA, and Jerome Enad and Shay Rosecrans of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren Michael Hillo, Christina Hillo, Ashley Enad, Mickie Enad and Allee McDonald.
Max was the eldest brother to Luz and (late) Bonnie Carreon, Josephine and (late) Andres Carreon, Romeo and Louline Enad, Estela and Rolly Nave, (late) Elizabeth Enad, Thelma Enad, Marylyn & Rollie Bugarin, Sancho Jr. and Elsa Enad, Steve and Tess Enad, and Elvin and Maria Enad. He was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Max attended Southwestern University, Philippines, before enlisting in the United States Navy where he served for twenty years from 1954 to 1974, during which time he became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1967. During his time in the Navy, Max was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal five times. He was also Sailor of the Quarter in 1969 at Great Lakes Naval Air Station. He traveled to ports in Europe and the Mediterranean, and was stationed in Alaska, Illinois, Florida, Rhode Island and Stockton, California, where he settled with his family.
After retiring from military service, he worked for 26 years as an Employment Officer for the State of California’s Employment Development Department, while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Cal State University, Stanislaus.
Max spent his professional life being of service to others, from staffing and counseling fellow servicemen as Chief Petty Officer Minority Affairs Advisor, to helping numerous local residents gain employment, including immigrants and veterans. He was a founding member and past president of FUSUFRA (Filipino U.S. Armed Forces Retirees Association) where he earned the Superb Presidential Leadership Award. He was also a member of the Santo Nino Association of Stockton, and the Filipino Catholic Association.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.; rosary at 3 p.m. at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive, Stockton, CA 95219.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 16 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Presentation, 6715 Leesburg Place, Stockton, CA 95207, with burial following at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton, CA 95204.
