He was born on March 25, 1929, in Lloren, Tubao, La Union, Philippines, the only son of the late Rufino and Candida Olarte. He earned his law degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines.
Pablo immigrated to the United States on July 11, 1966, together with his wife, Margarita, and their daughter, Corie. They were among the first families to arrive following the passage of the 1965 Immigration Act. This journey was especially meaningful, as it marked the first time Pablo reunited with his father in 35 years—having been just two years old when his father immigrated to the United States.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, Pablo was known for his kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Pablo was a cherished member of the Stockton Filipino community. He was a dedicated and committed member of the Legionarios Del Trabajo, where he held several leadership positions. He also served as President of the Carcar Association and the Senior Citizens Association of Stockton. In addition, he was an active member of St. George’s Choir, the LDT Choir, and the LDT Dance Group. He found great joy in singing and especially loved ballroom dancing, where he became well known for his elegant tango.
Throughout his working life in Stockton, Pablo held various jobs, but he found his greatest fulfillment working with the Filipino organization, Bayanihan. As a Para-Legal Aide specializing in immigration, he helped countless members of the Filipino community reunite with their families and build better lives in the United States.
Pablo was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Margarita and is survived by his loving daughter, Corie (husband Erwin); his grandchildren, Eric (wife Mariesah) and Cameron; and his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Caleb, and Berkleigh.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
