Pilar Cabagbag, age 80, entered into rest on Monday, December 26, 2022. She was born on October 12, 1942, to the late Julian and Bienvenida Aman in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. In 1968, she met the love of her life, Sammy Cabagbag, and shortly after were married. They moved to Stockton, CA in 1969 where Sammy was residing. They were married for 38 years. Pilar retired from California Cedar Products after working 29 years.
She dedicated her life serving the Lord. She was an original member of the Filipino Catholic InterParish Choir which was formed in 1984. She was a choir member for 28 years. She was also a member of the Filipino Catholic Association, CarCar Brotherhood, and the United Narvacanean Association.
In her spare time, Pilar took pride in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, and singing. In her leisure time, she enjoyed attending dinner/dance parties, novenas and prayer groups, fundraisers, and going to the casinos with her husband.
Pilar was a devoted wife to the late Sammy Cabagbag, mother of Sandra and Sherri (Aaron), grandmother to Darian, Kanahele, Noah, Arin, and Samson. She is also survived by her siblings, Natalia (Herminio), Purita (Apolonio), Prudencia, Lily, and Jose (Zenaida). She survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Maria Elena Quimin (Alex), Melanie Palabay (Jerry) Catherine Cariaso (Chester), Arlene Oliva (Nino), Shirley Buen Valdez (Luis), Apolonio Buen, Wilson Quimin (Vicky), William Quimin (Edewina), Irvin Aman, Ian Avalos (Agustin) Stacy Cook (Chris), Marcelino Cabagbag (Penny), Arnel Cabagbag (Mhine), Chris Cabagbag (Noemi), Fedel Cabagbag, Loretta Cabagbag, and Sonia Felicidario (Ed).
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dionisio.
Friends and family are invited to attend her rosary, Monday, January 16, 2023, at 4:00 pm at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, and funeral services Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church, 203 E. Washington Street. Visitation will be held at Shoreline Deyoung from 1:00-4:00.
