You're home with Mama Jovita, Daddy Gody, Uncle Gee and Linayao dad and brother, Auntie Coring,  Tio Munding, Matel, Penny,  Jade, Kuya Manny even Papa Bill, what a company! .  We miss you all. I first met Auntie Oweng when I was a little girl in Panay Street Sampaloc Manila. My Dad's cousin from the Bugante family, but she was only three years older than me. She and her younger sister Auntie Tinay played with me and my younger sister Haide. At the age of 12, Auntie Oweng came to the USA with the help of Auntie Elvie and was adopted by the Miller family, henceforth becoming known as Rowena Miller.

I remember her sending me and Haide Tiger Beat magazines and VHS tapes of MTV through our parents who visited the family in Temple, Texas, a thoughtful gesture even half the world away.

In my mind she was living the American teenage dream but as I got to know her better when I came to Stockton in 1992, I learned that she was still the same kind and no-frills girl from childhood. She loved her nieces and nephews and would drive around Stockton picking each one of them up for playdates. When those kids grew up and had kids, Rowena did the same for their kids. Though she and her husband Joe never had kids of their own, several generations of our family will always treasure childhood memories of Camp Row-Row.

Auntie Rowena, Nothing compares to you! The strength you showed, the love you shared, and the thoughtfulness you had for everyone around you. Thank you for always being there for me and my family. We miss and love you so much! Watch over all of us! Until we meet again! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You were the best big sister I could have ever asked for. You were the person I could come to for anything and you were always there to help me. You loved me unconditionally and I will miss you every minute of every day until we meet again. I love you. ❤️

It hurts to let go of my lucky charm. Tita, this lifetime will never be the same without your light, but you will always live on in my heart. I am forever grateful to you and Uncle Joe. May your beautiful soul rest in peace among our loved ones. I love you so much! ♥️

Rowena’s loving kindness and generosity are well-known to family and friends. She was always there to help and support. Let us continue to pray for her soul to rest in peace and be in God’s kingdom in the company of our departed loved ones.
