Santa Phyllis Velez, a devoted, faithful, hard-working, thoughtful, and inspirational woman, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 1, 1939, Santa was a cherished resident of Stockton, California.
Santa dedicated over 30 years of her career to working at Del Monte, where her hard work and commitment were evident to all who knew her. Her personal life was equally fulfilling, surrounded by a loving family. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Reynoso, and her daughters, Theresa Flores, Ann Marie Montanez, Lisa Dutra, and Jessica Velez. Santa was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Reynoso; mother, Victoria Rincon; siblings, Rebecca Maldonado, Josephine Vargas, Joseph Reynoso, and Rosie Sandoval; and her son, Daniel Goday.
Santa had a passion for gardening, ceramics, dancing, and shopping- especially at garage sales and thrifting. Her community was important to her, and she was an active member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude towards Vienna Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lodi, CA, and San Joaquin Hospice, as well as all the caretakers who provided 24-hour care while she was living at home.
Visitation will be held on December 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, located at 809 North California, Stockton, CA 95202. A Rosary will be recited at the same venue from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on December 16, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Saint Gertrude Catholic Church, 1663 E Main St, Stockton, CA 95205. The Committal Service will follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E Harding Way, Stockton, CA 95204, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
Pallbearers will include Rick Rivera, Michael Dutra II, Roy Sanchez, Christopher Rivera, Robert Montanez, Jason Reynoso, and Raymond Reynoso.
Santa Phyllis Velez will be laid to rest at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 East Harding Way, Stockton. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
