Tessa Cademartori

Born in Stockton on December 23, 1934, to Joseph Albert Cademartori and Elizabeth Cademartori, Tessa spent her entire life in the city she loved. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Stockton and went on to a long career as an executive assistant with Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

A devout Catholic, Tessa carried her faith quietly and consistently throughout her life. She was a consummate cook whose kitchen table was a regular gathering place for family and friends, and she took particular joy in preparing the Ligurian dishes of her family’s generations-old recipes. She was also well-traveled, returning to Italy many times over the course of her life — most recently to Chiavari this past spring, where locals marveled to hear her speak Genovese.

Tessa was, in the truest sense, the heart of the family. She was selfless without exception — giving of her time, her attention, and herself to everyone who knew her. She met the world with an unshakable optimism, finding the good in every circumstance she encountered. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Albert Cademartori and Elizabeth Cademartori; her sister, Mary Anne Cademartori; and her brother, Louis Cademartori.

She is survived by her sister, JoBeth Cademartori, and her brother, Nicholas Cademartori; her nephews, Joe Cademartori (Bunnary Hin) and Rocco Cademartori (Kelly Cademartori); her niece, Jenna Naylor (Steve Naylor); her grand-nephews, Carter Cademartori, Benjamin Naylor, and Louis Naylor; and her grand-niece, Allison Cademartori.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 2544 Plymouth Road, Stockton, California (church entrance on Country Club Boulevard). Interment will follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton. Information about the reception to be held thereafter will be provided following Mass.
