Vallie Jo Penny Olague

Vallie passed away peacefully at her home in Stockton, surrounded by her family Monday September 14, 2015 she was 71 years old.

Vallie was born in Springfield, Mo. January 9, 1944 to Harold & Mary Ella Penny. She moved to Chico Ca. when she was 15 upon the death of her father to live with her Grandmother Esther Brey. Vallie graduated from Chico High School. After she graduated she moved to Sacramento, Ca. where she attended Cosmetology School. She then worked as a hair stylist for many years. Vallie relocated to Stockton in 1968.She started working at San Joaquin General Hospital as a nurse’s aid and became interested in the nursing field. She later attended San Joaquin Delta College and received her LVN degree. Vallie worked as an LVN at Dameron Hospital and Stockton State Developmental Center. While working at Stockton State Developmental Center, Vallie met her husband John Joseph Olague. They were married in 1983 until his passing in 2005. Vallie loved her family very much. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, and Friend. Her grandchildren were very special to her. Vallie was a member of Wesleyan Evangelical Church in Stockton Ca.

Vallie was preceded in death by her Husband- John Joseph Olague, Mother- Mary Ella Penny, Father -Willis Leo Harold Penny, Sister-Mary Florence Penny, Brother -Henry Penny, Grandmother- Esther Brey, several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Vallie is survived by her children, Daughter- Michele Lynn Miesen Owens (Jeff) and Son- Joseph John Giusti II (Dorina). Grandchildren- Katie Owens, Jeffery Owens II (Amanda), Lindsey Owens, Joshua Owens, Dana Maulit (Justin), Stephanie Giusti, Joseph Giusti III and Danielle Giusti. Great Grandchildren- Jaydan and Justine Maulit, and Josie Bautista all of Stockton Ca. Aunt-Carolyn Lundberg (Wendell) of Chico Ca. Sister- Dawn Danielle Penny Griffith (Kevin) of Keller, Texas. And several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vallie will forever be in our Hearts. She will be terribly missed.

Funeral Services for Vallie have been entrusted to Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St., Stockton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 22, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, in the Chapel of Frisbie- Warren & Carroll. A service will be held on Wednesday September 23 at 1:00 pm at the Wesleyan Evangelical Church, 2627 Poplar St., Stockton, CA. Final resting place will be Stockton Rural Cemetery.
