Veronica Lynn Rodriguez, lovingly known as “Ronnie,” was truly one of a kind. Born on August 16, 1962, she was a true Leo—bold, passionate, loyal, and full of life. She was funny, direct, and completely unfiltered; you never had to wonder what Ronnie was thinking because she was always going to tell you. Her honesty, humor, and larger-than-life personality made her unforgettable to everyone who knew and loved her.
Ronnie proudly served her country in the United States Army and the Army Reserve. Following her military service, she worked for many years as a security guard, bringing her strength, dedication, and unmistakable personality to everything she did.
Ronnie loved movies, music, Snoopy, and her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed good food and treasured time with her family and extended family. She spent many wonderful years with her dear friend and partner in crime, Linda Baca. Ronnie loved Linda’s children and grandchildren as her own and was incredibly proud of each of them.
Her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart, especially her beloved Anthony, whom she lovingly called her “son-son.” Ronnie had a nickname for nearly everyone. It was her special way of showing love, affection, and admiration—and if Ronnie gave you a nickname, you knew you mattered to her.
Ronnie danced to the beat of her own drum. She sang, danced, laughed, and made her way through life with a spirit entirely her own. She was a character in the very best sense, bringing laughter, honesty, and unforgettable memories into the lives of those around her.
Ronnie was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert John Rodriguez Sr., her mother, Hortencia Raya Rodriguez; and her brothers, Mark Rodriguez and Gabriel Rodriguez. She is survived by her siblings Sylvia Marie Rodriguez, Gilbert John Rodriguez Jr., Guadalupe Paul Rodriguez and Renee Bonita Sanchez. We find comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved who went before her.
