Willie Mae Hendrix

Willie Mae Hendrix was born in Wilmar Arkansas on January 5th 1934 to William and Jewerl Griffin, who preceded her in death. She spent her formative years growing up in Wilmar Arkansas, attending school as well as the local Baptist Church. Willie Mae was one of a kind and any one that knew her can attest to that. Her strength and endurance was simply remarkable.

She Moved to Oakland California in the late 1950’s and made the beautiful state of California her home. Shortly after moving to Oakland, she secured gainful employment and saved to get a home of her own. In her travels, she was lucky enough to visit places that most of us can only dream of. She was truly blessed.

Willie Mae was married to Booker T. Hendrix until his death in 1974. There were no children born out of the marriage.

She leaves to cherish her memory and special moments:
