I dated Marty for about three years. Times were hard but he and his sister tried to help. I have forgiven all of his and my bad times and wish only the best for his son and family. I am so sorry to hear this thru Facebook. I pray that he is at peace now!

I met marty through his brother randy and made a friend right off the bat I was stunned when I heard the news,He will be missed very much

Oh how I loved him when he was born.I would stop by every day after school just to look at him. It must have made Aunt Lois crazy. I remember Sheila trying to show me how to change his diaper. It broke my heart when ya'll moved away. I really didn't know him well after that but now that I hear of his passing my heart breaks once again. I love you Randy and Sheila.

I also knew Marty from High School.  I'm grateful to have found him through FB so we could have some nice "catch up" sessions.  When I think of Marty I think of Rock and Roll....the really good kind of R&R.  I also think of strong discussions and debates...again, the good kind of debates.  My prayers are with the family.

Eric, I'm sorry for your loss. Stay strong but don't be afraid to show how you feel. Your mom is always there for you. I know this is hard for Casey as well.Just know that Marty loved you both very much. I love you guys and I'm here if you need me.

I had not seen Marty in quite a few years. I guess the last time would have been at my mom's funeral in 1999. He and I were talking and let me know that it would get better in time of missing my mom. He had gone through the same and said he still thought of her everyday. Those words have stuck with me. He will truly be missed and I am sorry we did not keep in touch better over the years. God Bless...

Marty and I hung out quite a bit in High School. We were both kinda lost souls at the time. I will remember the long drives we used to take in his Gold Bug and just talk and listen to Rock and Roll. He was such a kind soul and giving with his time. I remember giving him his first lessons on Bass and I'm glad he carried it on learned to love it. I regret not keeping up with him more after he moved back to Georgia. His death reminds me that I need to pay attention more. I am sad today for his passing but I will remember him fondly.

I remember Marty when he was a little baby and as a toddler running like crazy through Granny Harpers house at holidays; he loved all the goodies Granny made.  I am sure he is with the rest of the family having a reunion.   Rest in Peace Cousin and tell our family that has gone before us hello.

Eric, your dad's best accomplishment was you. Stand strong and be all you can. Your friends and family will always be here when you need to be held up or just to be yours. I love you dearly.

Marty you are at peace and now and you know that Eric will take extra special care of Tanner. No matter what I have always had love for you.  We share a child and the best part of you lives on through Eric.

I think my favorite memory of Marty was one holiday (I think it was New Year's Eve), I stood outside with him while he smoked. We talked for quite a while and I saw what a good person he was. Hadn't seen him for several years but when I saw his pictures he was the same Marty I remember. He will be missed.

Dad you were my dad and my helper. I loved you the last 14 years were the best for to me because you were with me. When i realized you died i didnt know what to say do or feel about it. for the first 5 minutes i did nothing. the last 5 minutes i started to tear a little. when home i cryed. I felt that i havent been the greatest son myself i should have called at least once a week. I wish you were here i remember when the christmas you were there and i had gotten my spiderman costume. It was the greatest. You were my dad and i knew you did "it" but i never said anything. I love you dad and i hope you see this message up in heaven with Cindy. 1965-2011. 1998-2011 were the best years. I bet your happy to feel better. Bye dad i miss you.
