Virginia Leigh Cook Hall of Lilburn, Georgia, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, transitioned into the arms of her Heavenly Father on October 8, 2011 after 88 good years of life. She was a faithful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother! She established a Christian household for her family with an unwavering belief and faith in Jesus her savior. She supported her husband Howard through WWII and served as a civilian dental hygienist while he was stationed in Missouri. She liked to sew and enjoyed the outdoors especially birds and flowers and the leaves in the fall. She valued thriftiness and insisted on college educations for her children. She was a devoted follower of In Touch Ministries. She cooked a mean pot roast, chicken pot pie and an amazing pumpkin pie! She encouraged us to always do and be our best! Thanks Mom! Now you enjoy walking the streets of gold with all those you loved who have gone before you! Virginia is survived by her daughter Dianne Hall, her son James Howard Hall III [Jim] and his wife Kaye; Grandchildren Ryan Hall and Melissa Hall Cannon; Great grandchildren Davis Hall and Bennett Cannon all in the Atlanta area; Sisters Gracie Armstrong, Catheren Shannon and Clara Douglas all of Birmingham, Alabama plus many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by Opal Redway-Murdock, her longtime caregiver, the caring staffs at Sunrise at Five Forks and Evercare Hospice. Visitation will be Monday October 10 from 5PM till 8PM at Horis Ward Stone Mountain Chapel. A private graveside service for the family will be held on Tuesday October 11 at Eternal Hills Cemetary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Good Samaritan Health Center at 1015 Donald Hollowell Pkwy. Atl., Georgia 30318 or www.goodsamatlanta.org/
