Ann Taves

Ann Taves (nee Giesbrecht) was born on June 2, 1941 in Altona, MB, was the 7th of 10 children, and grew up in Bergfeld. She passed away at the age of 83 from complications due to Alzheimer's on April 24, 2025. She lived many years in Fort Saskatchewan, AB and the last 42 years of her life in Sherwood Park, AB. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ben Taves, and her 2 children Brian (Angela) and Linda (Mark), as well as her grandchildren Julia, Steven (Kaybrie), Erin (Joey), and Jordan, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by 6 siblings and numerous other family members and friends.

Ann will be remembered and missed for her ready smile and her love of laughter. She had a deep-rooted faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and tried to live this out daily. Ann's favorite pass-time was gardening and puttering in her backyard; it won't be the same without her. She also enjoyed crafts, quilting, photography, and having coffee with friends.

The Celebration of Life service to honor Ann will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 1PM, at Parkland Funeral Home Chapel at 3502 – 44 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB. Burial will follow at the Glory Hills Cemetery in Stony Plain.
