

Bill was born June 25, 1943 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to Dan and Clara MacDonald. He was 1 of 7 children born into this coal mining family.
Bill will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 55 years, Laverne; his daughter Angela MacDonald of Ft. McMurray; his son Darrin (Jessica) of Red Deer; his grandchildren: Naomi, Matthew, Christopher and Nolan; brothers: Forbes (Jean Hatfield) of Stayner, ON., Douglas (Linda) of Mississauga, ON., Leonard (Barbara) of Antigonish, N.S.; his sister Anita of Reserve, N.S. as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Dan and Clara; his brothers Allister and Stanley; his brother-in-law Harry and his sister-in-law Judy.
Bill, an electrician by trade, retired from Syncrude in 2001. Bill and Laverne travelled and lived for many years after retirement between Edmonton and Yuma, Arizona in their beloved motorhome. Their park friends became their new families. Finally they settled in Wabamun, Alberta in 2015 where they were readily welcomed into the community and a new family of friends. Bill volunteered with Communities in Bloom, Citizens on Patrol and Wabamun Seniors. Bill enjoyed golf, following the Oilers, playing cards and playing on his keyboard.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial and Celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.
