Emilie "Millie" Bickerstaff

Millie, age 97, of Stony Plain, AB passed away on the evening of January 11, 2024. Millie was born in Okalew, Poland to Daniel and Augustine Rinas on December 9, 1926. The family resettled in Germany after the start of WW11 and in the spring of 1950, Millie immigrated to Canada under the sponsorship of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brandenburg of Stony Plain. By the fall of 1951 Millie married Ed Bickerstaff of Alberta Beach, AB and they were blessed with a daughter, Rosemarie on December 12, 1953. She remained on the family farm for 46 years before moving back to Stony Plain in 1997.

Millie is survived by her son-in-law Dave Kaempf; friends Audrey and Meaghan Dyke, Margaret and Mico Barudzija, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Ed Bickerstaff; her daughter Rosemarie Kaempf; her parents and all five of her siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM on May 16, 2024 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, 5010 52 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB.
