With the heaviest of hearts, the family of Fred Pedlar regretfully announce his sudden passing on May 31st, 2020 at the age of 71 years,
Fred is survived by the love of his life, Angela, and their two children: son Brian Pedlar (Robin) and their children Lauren and Hudson, and son David Pedlar and his children with Amanda, Stephen, Ashley and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Christine (Ed), his niece and nephew and many great nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his parents (Jack and Dorothy Pedlar).
Fred lived a wonderfully full life. After serving as a member of the RCMP for 34 years, he retired and began to enjoy his many talents: being a real family man and artist. He was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father and a never-ending doting and silly grandfather. He was extremely proud of his family. Fred loved his art and was talented beyond measure recently serving on the Allied Arts Council.
Fred met the love of his life, Angela Christine Pedlar (Nicholls) in 1966 at CFB Cold Lake (Medley), AB. Fred was her “everything” and was just shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. For the duration of their almost 50-year marriage, Fred and Angela enjoyed a lifetime of love and devotion to one another so complete, few can only dream to experience. They were each other’s true love from the first day until the last, with a depth surpassing understanding that will surely endure eternity as they will certainly be reunited one day in heaven.
Fred was patient, kind, supportive. He always brought a smile to everyone’s face and loved to laugh. Anyone who was blessed to cross paths with Fred knew that he was one of a kind and had a heart of gold and the gentlest of soul.
We take solace in knowing that Fred truly made the world a better place as he deeply touched the hearts of many through his public service and his love and devotion to his family and close friends. They broke the mould when Fred was born, and there will surely never be another man as selfless and special as he.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00pm on Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 at Parkland Funeral Services in Stony Plain. Due to the current circumstances, we want to ensure we take every necessary precaution in protecting our loved ones. In keeping with provincial mandates, only 50 guests will be contacted to be present at the Service with only limited guests taking part in the inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery following.
The family would like to thank Spruce Grove Fire Services and the RCMP for their care and dedication in aiding Fred at the very end of his very special and precious life. They would also like to thank Parkland Funeral Services for their guidance during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or the Stollery Children’s Hospital. These were two very important organizations to Fred.
