Gail Frances Sundby

1945 - 2024

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gail Frances Sundby at 79 years young. Gone far too early for those of us who loved her deeply. After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, she accepted her call to heaven on December 31, 2024.

Her husband, Roy Sundby of 57 years of friendship and marriage, will forever feel her loss, but knows he will always and forever have her love and the precious moments together.

She was always a wife and mother first. A beautiful, patient, gentle and kind person who had a great sense of humour and a strong sense of faith. A loving wife, mother, aunt, great aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with them all whenever possible.

Her love of music was awe inspiring. She could play any instrument given a little bit of time to play about with it. And yet, she could not read music. It seemed magical. Hearing a song on the radio would often cause her to simply play it first try. Her many years as an organist in the church gave her a way to give back to the community the talent that she was so blessed with.

New Year’s Eve has forever changed for those of us who knew and loved her. But we will always hear her amidst her favourite songs and the melody of the chickadees calling out to one another.

There will be no service as per her request, however she has asked that those who wish to make a donation can do so to a local food bank or a homeless shelter on her behalf. And help her to continue to pay life forward with generosity and kindness.
