Garrett Michael Shaughnessy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garrett (Garry) Shaughnessy on May 25, 2017 at the age of 69 years. Garry passed away peacefully after bravely battling cancer.

He is predeceased by his wife of 41 years Dorothy (Dot) as well as numerous brothers, relatives and friends. His positive attitude, smile and laughter will be lovingly remembered by his sons Robert (Margaret) and Jason (Zorica), eight grandchildren; Sophia, Dylan, Michael, Ryan, Peter, Henry, Richard and Ellie – , his sisters Patricia “Pat” and Marilyn “Cookie” (Jack) and brother William “Bill” (Gladys) as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A huge thank you goes out to the staff of the Norwood Palliative Care unit in Edmonton, AB.

A memorial service in Garry’s memory will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday June 2nd at Parkland Funeral Services (3502 44th Ave, Stony Plain, AB) with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, we ask a donation in his memory be made at a charity of your choice. We know that Garry would ask you to please drive safely.
