It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Rowland Hanson of Stony Plain, Alberta on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the age of 78 years.
Roly worked for the City of Edmonton in various capacities before joining the Fire Department. There he progressed through various roles including Captain and retired after 34 years.
Roly is survived by his brother Wayne (Janet); his sister Lynne (Marion) Chomik; his daughter, Dawn (Mark) Aloisio; his grandchildren: James, Courtney (Colton), Katlyn, and Quincey, as well as 2 great-grandchildren, countless cousins, nieces, neighbours and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Carol; his daughter Lori and his parents Earl and Eloise.
He will be dearly missed.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral or service.
