I have known Gerald from my days as young boy fallowing my dad to the fastball diamond . 
Where he and Gerald Played Fastball together. 
The Last year of the Legendary Stony Plain playboy fastball Team . Myself as 15 year old and 3 other Boys Vern Ray , Stu Kulak and Terry McGinn Played on the team. Gerald was the coach . The team had one practice a week 
But Gerald and us four young guys had two practice a week . I think at the time Gerald loved fastball and Loved sharing his knowledge about even more. He was a great coach for us young guys and I was always grateful for Gerald spending the Time with Us. 

Gerald was responsible for bringing a lot of community spirit to Stony Plain. He was a big organizer of many social events bringing the likes in California cuties fastball team. King and his court fastball team both from the states . All of the community enjoyed watching them perform . I remember even a donkey baseball where you had to ride the donkey around bases. . 

Gerald was definitely one of the legends of Stony Plain . I will always remember him as man that gave back to his community and well we cant forget that contagious laugh of his 

Thank you, Gerald for all that you have done for myself and the special friendship you and Marg had with my Mom and Dad . You  often reminded me over the years of what an impact my parents were on this community and appreciated that .

You were one of a kind, and this community benefitted from it. I will remember you as a special person in my life and I’m very grateful for the opportunity I had to know you and your family.

Margie and family, We are sad to hear of Gerald’s passing  We are  sending our deepest condolences to you all.

I was sorry to hear Gerald has passed. He treated everyone with respect and was well liked among the horsemen.

I have known Gerald for most of my life. From watching him play hockey and fastball when I was kid to playing golf against him in a match at Stony golf course as a young adult. 
I have had the pleasure of working with him and for him on many occasions. Had the benefit of the great memories and experiences that he so willingly shared.  
A respected business man and friend to many but what I will remember most is the conversations at his kitchen table and a roaring laugh that could fill a room. 

He will be greatly missed.

I knew Gerald through the waterwell trade and as a fellow director of the AWWDA
Gerald was always the voice of reason in any chaotic situation
His intellect and organizational skills were a great asset in his professional life as well as in the AWWDA
All the while he saw humor and had an innocent fascination in any story he was part of
The McGinn family and the waterwell industry has lost a dignified statesman

I'm so very sorry for your loss he was a great man I will miss him dearly
