Gloria Jean Tetreault

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Gloria Jean Tetreault (nee Edgar). Mom passed away suddenly on April 18, 2023, just four days shy of Earth Day. Mom loved Earth Day not only because of what it stood for, but it was also her mother’s birthday. Mom was recycling and composting long before it was the hip thing to do. Like her mother, Florence, Gloria enjoyed gardening and flowers. She and her husband Viateur (Vic) also loved travelling to their beloved cabin at Gregg Lake in William Switzer Provincial Park as well as travelling to Scottsdale in the winter months.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 48 years, Vic; her former husband, Robert (Bob) Gibbon; her sons, Mark Gibbon (Tasha Vu) and Chris Gibbon (Kimberly); as well as her grandchildren Robert (Carina), Garrett, Hayden (Sydney), and Julia; her great-granddaughter, Madison; and sisters-in-law, Dianne Edgar, and Teri Beaupre. She also has many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces including her eldest nephew, Greg Edgar.

Gloria is predeceased by her eldest son, Robert Gibbon; her father, Ray Strong Edgar; her mother, Florence Edith Edgar; and her brothers, Ray Joseph Edgar, John (Jack) Clayton Edgar, and her younger brother and best friend Frederick (Fred) Armand Joseph Edgar.

A small service will be held at Hainstock Funeral Home at 2:00 on May 12, 2023. In lieu of flowers, Gloria asked for donations to be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
