Ian is survived by his wife Verna; his daughters: Shawna and Valerie (Steve); his stepson’s: Brent (Kathy) and Ken (Rhonda); his sister Joan; his brother Dwight (Darlene) as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The proudest days of his life were when he served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a gunner and there he obtained his millwright ticket. He worked at the Pulp Mills until his retirement.
Ian was a people person and had a heart of gold. He would help anyone with anything, despite his declining health.
Woodworking was his favourite hobby and he spent many hours in his shop.
As per Ian’s request, no formal service will be held. Instead, have a pilsner beer in his memory.
