He was predeceased by his parents; Daniel and Agnes MacCallum and brothers Brian and Blair MacCallum.
Bruce was born to Daniel and Agnes in Toronto of 1951. His father was in the army so he lived in many places; Moncton, Halifax, New Brunswick, Edmonton and more.
Bruce was a fantastic handyman who was proud, smart, and a secure rock for his family to depend on. If he didn’t know how to do something he figured it out and got it done. He was a dedicated 1st Class Power Engineer at TransAlta Utilities for 35 years; the last six he was the Chief Engineer at the Wabamun power plant. Before retirement he also worked for Suncor Fort McMurray as a consultant.
Bruce enjoyed traveling the world. He visited Hawaii, México, Florida, Belez, San Francisco, Arizona, St. Lucia, Santa María, Costa Rica, England, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Romania, Honduras, Nicaragua, Turkey, Greece, South Africa, and Malawi.
Bruce stayed active during retirement in many ways. Bruce’s favorite hobby was playing pickleball, he was a member of the Parkland Pickleheads. He also enjoyed going to the movies, walking, fishing, boating, and watching sports, especially the Edmonton Oilers. He enjoyed taking his wife out for dinner dates and time out at his lake lot on Raymond Shores with family and friends. Keeping busy he was always working on handyman projects or helping friends and family. He enjoyed taking the kids tubing almost every weekend this past summer.
His grandchildren will miss his sarcastic sense of humor, his energy and seeing him in the stands at all their sporting and special events. His children will miss his security, his lessons and his infectious laugh. His wife will miss his charisma, patience, and hard work ethic.
