Jane Gallant

She was born on January 7, 1948 to Israel Saul Vineberg and Edesse Jeanne ‘Mercier’ Vineberg in Montreal Quebec.

Jane married Robert Andrew Gallant on June 14, 1964, and they had two children, Laura Jane Gallant and Ramon Andrew Gallant.

She was a homemaker and worked various jobs over the years to contribute to the family finances. Jane was an avid cook, crafter, and gardener. She was a passionate animal lover. She especially loved cats. She loved archaeology, history, natural sciences and religious studies. In her later years when her mobility was reduced, she loved watching all manner of documentaries on the history and science channels on television and sharing what she learned with her children and grandchildren. Jane was very proud of her Jewish heritage. Over the years, as her health permitted, she was very involved in her religious community. Her greatest joy was her family. She had 60 years of marriage to her dearly beloved husband and looked forward to being back with him after his passing this spring.

Jane is survived by her children: Laura, Ramon, daughter-in-law Virginia; grandchildren: Dylon, Evyn, and Kaytelin; her sisters: Lorraine, Lynda, Carolyn, and Susan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and parents Saul and Ada.

Funeral services will be Friday January 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Parkland Funeral Services 3502-44 Ave. Stony Plain Alberta. Interment will follow at Wabamun Cemetery.
