Jean will be remembered for her love of family, friends and strong faith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Jean will also be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking, baking, cheering for her beloved Oilers and Elks, travelling and reading. She was fondly known as the “pie lady”. On a Saturday morning, Jean could whip together a couple of pies from scratch with ease. No one made an apple pie like her!
Jean is now reunited with her husband Delmar. They were married on July 31, 1964 and remained together for 49 years. Jean is survived by her daughter Tracy Hutchings (Jack) and son Kevin Kulak (Shelley). “G-Ma” adored her five grandchildren – Brandon, Scott, Amy (Nolan), Ryan and Conner.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Norris and Ella McDonald, her husband Delmar and her siblings: Gail Rehman, Troy McDonald and Graham McDonald. She was also predeceased by her sisters-in-law Jackie McDonald & Hazel McDonald and by her brother-in-law Garry Kulak.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5021 – 52 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. In memory of Jean, Memorial Donations may be made to SML Christian Academy (cheques must be made out to St. Matthew Lutheran Church).
The Family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Magnan and the staff at Villa Caritas Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care shown to Jean.
