Kenneth John Livingston Dinwoodie

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth John Livingston Dinwoodie of Stony Plain, Alberta on August 27, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Ken was born in Bengough, Saskatchewan on August 5, 1937.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Sylvia Dinwoodie; his son, Colin (Jhen) Dinwoodie; his daughters, Gwen (Darvin) Mossing and Sherry (Ken) Briggs; and his sister, Louise Gable.

Also left to cherish Ken’s memory are his grandchildren, Brett Dinwoodie, Vanessa Feniak, Skylin Herba, Darralyn Mossing, Tamara Briggs and Jordan Briggs as well as his great-grandchildren, Axel Dinwoodie and Natalie Briggs.

Ken was predeceased by his grandson, Catlin Mossing; his parents, William and Jean Dinwoodie; his sisters, Eleanor Sweeney and Marion McBride; and his brother, Alan.

Ken was a jack of all trades and as he would say, a master of none! He was a rancher/farmer, school teacher, chemist, oilfield worker, AI technician and his free time was spent buying and renovating house and backhoe work.

His hobbies were many… welding being his favourite; gardening, pottery, sculptures of wire, and wood and lots of reading. When he was 68 years old he attended university at UBCO, Kelowna. He was picked by the professor of his art class to partake in the Wearable Art Gala. His garment was all-handmade by him out of old denim jeans. The denim was hand frayed and each layer was wired up so that air was blowing through the frays. He was so creative.

He was also an inventor. He built a dibbler machine for his neighbor friend who was always experimenting with new types of crops.

Ken and Sylvia travelled extensively in the winter months in the 5th wheel and summer vacations were either on motorcycles or searching for treasures in the Yukon. They visited every centre that had an art gallery and museum. Ken was always content on his pride and joy farm in the Peace Country.

In keeping with Ken’s wishes, a private family service was held.
