It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Manfred Kanehl from complications of congestive heart failure. Born in Kranzin, Germany, Manfred sought out adventure in Canada and made his home in Parkland County.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elke, his son Martin, daughter Susan and his three grandchildren, Glen (Sara), Elisabeth (Haydn) and Isaac.
Manfred and Elke embraced the pioneering spirit and grew their farm through grit, determination and hard work. Over the years, Manfred was a leader in the poultry industry and worked tirelessly to make advances.
Many thanks to all the staff at the Westview Long-Term Care in Stony Plain for their kindness in looking after Manfred during his short stay.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will take place at Parkland Funeral Services with inurnment to follow in Inga Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
