My Mernie,
In the presence of God we unite here today to celebrate the life of Maureen.  To me she is and has always been my Mernie.
I would first like to thank Sandy, Lindsey, Leah, Brandy & Scott for the opportunity and honor and sharing in Mernie's Celebration of Life.
Mernie was a beautiful, compassionate, happy, funny, and extrodinary human being in all sense of the word.
A loving and devoted; Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, and my life-long friend of 47 years.
So what becomes of our broken hearts?
Mernie returns home today to the place where it all began.  I urge us all to dry our tears, suspend our sorrow just long enough to remember the sweet miracle and memory of Mernie.  Never forgetting that Sandy, Lindsey, Leah, Brandy, Scott, Lorna (Maureen's Mother), Colleen, Shannon, and Darryl are still among us.
My earliest memory began 47 yrs ago when 2 sets of twins started grade 1 and rode the same bus.  It wasn't long before an instant bond was shared between Mernie, Colleen & I.   The 3 of us became life long friends  and have been very honored and proud to tell anyone who would listen to our story.  I make sure to tell this story to all my little preschoolers with whom I teach.
There were very many wonderful, happy, and FUNNY stories I could tell but I am sure there are many others who would love to share theirs as well so, I won't want to take all the time up here today.  I will cherish and hold on to all those wonderful memories made on the farm and, of course, made with the Bignell family.
I would like to make it known that the young school years with the SCHOEPP family made me a better person today.  The later years with the BIGNELL family also made me a better person, mother, and wife.
These two families have shown all who knew them, especially me, the highest integrity, respect, love, commitment, dedication, and hard work to each other every minute of every day.  One example of this was when each family helped with the building of each other's home.  It wasn't hired out it was the love of each other and commitment to each other that brought each of them together to accomplish a huge blessingtheir homes!
Mernie, Colleen and I have a very special bond that I will hold dear to my heart and memory.
To my MernieI will love you, I will certainly miss you, and I will remember you all the days of my life.  Thank you for being my very special, dear, life long friend.
To the two families of Mernie, my heart, sorrow, and grief go out to you now and always and forever.  I too, will love you all the days of my life.
To Lorna, my second Mother, my love and hugs go out to you now.  I will love you and remember you as my second Mom all the days of my life.
Goodbye to my special Mernie  until we meet again to the place where it all began.
