Michael was the chosen son of the late Roy and Patsy McAloon, who brought him home to join five sisters. The judge cut the court fees in half to recognize "parental bravery".
After graduation, Mike headed West where he became a heavy duty mechanic, working with Burnco and Melynchuk companies as well as his own "Mad Mike’s” venture. He was known for his skill and work ethic.
Mike is survived by his wife Dena; son Tim and step children Cortney and Damian; sisters Betty Robertson (Tom), Anne Bamford, Susan Gullison (Raymond), Mary Hay (Brian); aunts Elsie and Annie as well as numerous nieces , nephews and cousins.
He was pre deceased by his parents, his sister Linda Sales and brother-in-law, Dennie Bamford.
Mike and Dena loved all outdoor activities and lived life in a large way. Mike was a country guy at heart. He was also a story teller who had written the story of his challenging life. He is probably telling his stories in heaven to anyone who will listen. He will be missed by a large extended family and friends from east to west. Burial will be held in Stanley in the summer.
