It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Allan Dorsey, who left us on June 19, 2025, at the age of 78. A beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Ric touched the lives of many with his kindness, willingness to help and support others, and steadfast friendship.
Born on Dec 12, 1946 in Edmonton, Ric grew up living the values of integrity, kindness, dependability and loyalty. Ric was known for his honesty, friendship, and how deeply he felt for his family. His journey through life was marked by his desire to help and protect others especially those close to him. He always demonstrated a strong sense of right and wrong, a huge love of animals, and an unwavering ability to inspire those around him.
Ric was a cherished member of our family, deeply loved by his wife Sharon, his kids, Sam(Dave), Dan(Cheryl), his grandchildren, Derek (Emily), Mitch, Dayton, and his great grandson Benjamin. Ric is pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Freda Dorsey, his sister Joanne Debenham, and his brother-in-law Jim Bedford.
Among his proudest achievements, Ric considered his family to be his greatest treasure.
