

Rueben will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family: Aimee Branting (Dean), Pamala Swartz (Cal), Darren, Dean (Roxanne), Lisa Johnson (Jeff), Lenore Sabirsh (Rob); 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Rueben is also survived by his sister Tobae Esau and his sister-in-law Elinor Waddell.
Rueben was predeceased by his wife Alice; his daughter Susan; his father Julius; his mother Helena; his brothers August and John; his sister Ruth Eckert and his great-grandson Jack Umrysh.
A Memorial Service will be held for Rueben at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Stony Plain Pavilion at Heritage Park, 5100 – 41 Avenue in Stony Plain. A QR code, negative privately paid Rapid result within the last 72 hours with ID or an approved medical exemption letter will be required for admission to the Pavilion.

Rueben will be laid to his final resting place in a private ceremony at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the caregivers who provided a wealth of support at the Chateau Lac Ste Anne in Onoway for the 6 years he was there and to the Westlock Continuing Care for his final few months.
